Hi, there! I’m an accountant by trade and a child at heart. At least, that's how I justify my many interests that include reading, various arts and crafts, being an AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego), napping, and writing. I was born in Southern California, grew up surrounded by many artistic and creative relatives on one of the smaller islands in the Philippines (lucky!), started working in Southern California and now live in Northern California. As a college student at the University of the Philippines, I submitted a short story and a poem on a whim to one of the nation's leading weekly magazines. To my surprise, they both got published! It didn't occur to me to submit more manuscripts after that, even if they paid enough for decent celebratory snacks for my younger sisters, close friends and me.

I kept on reading though. Children’s stories are my favorite. More than a decade ago, my daughter's elementary classmates thought I was a cool Mom because I read Dr. Seuss books to the class in a Cat in the Hat outfit, I was regularly seen playing Pokemon on the Nintendo DS while waiting for their school day to end, and I was a LEGO robotics coach in their school!

My Instagram account, @cysflego , has daily postings of mini stories using LEGO pieces. Recently, I decided to study how to write children's picture books. I signed up with Storyteller Academy to finally continue the literary journey.

In November 2019, I added creating YouTube videos to my creative endeavors. I still speak Waray, the language of my childhood, and I want to introduce it to kids ages 0-99. These minute-long clips introduce one or two Waray words with the help of my puppet named Fae. Check out my "Waray Words with Fae" videos!
